In Habakkuk 1:5, the Lord says, "Look at the nations and watch — and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told" (NIV).

God is always working to extend the message of His salvation to the ends of the earth. God's Word commands us to go and make disciples of all nations. This command on our life is a privilege and allows us to be involved in someting greater than ourselves. Mount Zion desires to provide you with opportunities to fulfill this mandate on your life through several mission partnerships. Below is a list of partners we continue to maintain an ongoing relationship with for the purpose of sharing the gospel and expanding the kingdom of God.

  • Columbus Baptist Association (CBA) and Mission Columbus
  • Georgia Baptist Convention (GBC)
  • Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)
  • North American Mission Board (NAMB)
  • International Mission Board (IMB)
  • Samaritan's Purse (Operation Christmas Child)
  • InStep International
  • Local Missions including Double Churches Elementary School (Partner in Education), and the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home

Columbus Baptist Association

It is the vision of the Columbus Baptist Association (CBA) to develop a strong and vital network of churches, providing avenues and resources for missions and training to assist the churches in fulfilling their God-given visions. At Mount Zion, we work closely with CBA to help us in our outreach in the community, parternering with them to aid us in our ministry to others.

Mission Columbus is an organization under the umbrella of the CBA with the purpose of “Meeting Needs/Making Disciples”. It is comprised of many ministries that work hand-in-hand to assist those in need throughout Columbus. With this goal, it is also their mission to impart the Good News of Christ to everyone they help. Mount Zion's women's ministry, The Well, has been especially purposeful in working with Mission Columbus to help them minister to these people.

Costa Rica

Mount Zion Church partners with InStep, a mission organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, to serve the people of Costa Rica by linking resources that matter.

Mount Zion has partnered with local churches in the city of Jaco to share the message of the gospel with children by teaching in schools, leading evangelistic worship services, sharing testimonies, conducting men's ministry, and helping with construction projects.

Costa Rica provides many opportunities for the members of Mount Zion to use their spiritual gifts and skills to fulfill the Great Commission.

Georgia Baptist Mission Board

Mount Zion works closely with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and their Cooperative Program (CP), as it is the most effective and efficient channel through which we are able to support global missions and work together to take the message and ministry of Jesus to our state, the nation, and the world.

International Missions Board

The International Mission Board (IMB) has had one goal since its beginning in 1845 — bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost peoples of the world. Particularly, IMB focuses on people groups, with a concerted effort to start church-planting movements among unreached peoples. Mount Zion supports this effort.

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an extension of IMB and the members of Mount Zion donate to it annually. Through our offering, missionaries from various Southern Baptist churches are able to go into the world making disciples in the name of Jesus. The more resources that are provided, the more missionaries that can be sent.

Mount Zion partners with InStep to send short-term mission teams to Costa Rica. InStep helps us partner with local churches and pastors in an effort to strengthen the influence of their churches in their communities.

InStep International is an organization that operates as a faith-based, non-profit ministry in Atlanta, Georgia with a strategic international influence. Their purpose is to partner with like-minded organizations and link resources that help others identify and fulfill their God-driven, life purpose. Their vision is to see effective Christian leaders lead in strategic partnerships that share resources and form significant relationships for the common goal of spreading the Gospel.

Local Missions

Double Churches Elementary School is our Partner in Education. We minister to and support the students, their families, the educators, and other staff year-round. DCES Bible Club is one of the great ways we are able to minister to the children of the school. It consists of a group of students in the 3rd - 5th grades who meet after school once a month with members of our Mount Zion staff for worship, Bible study, snacks, and games. Our women's group, The Well, also frequently supports the teachers with snacks and gifts throughout the year to show our appreciation for their efforts. Additionally, Mount Zion is involved in helping with the DCES Fall Festival.

The Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home (AESH) is another local mission that Mount Zion supports. Several groups within our church minister to these girls in a variety of ways. These include collecting needed items and hosting an annual North Pole Breakfast for them at Christmastime. We also minister to them with cards and small gifts for other holidays throughout the year.

North American Mission Board

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) exists to work with churches, associations, and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missions force to impact North America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They do this through evangelism and church planting.

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions is another mission that Mount Zion supports annually. Through this mission, we honor the life and advocacy of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938), a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of missions efforts throughout the world.

Samaritan's Purse

Samaritan's Purse is another organization that Mount Zion supports. For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done their utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. They effectively reach hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance. This, in turn, allows them opportunities to share the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Through Samaritan's Purse's ministry, Operation Christmas Child, we are able to provide shoe boxes of toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other things to children all over the world who desperately need to hear about Jesus. Through our gifts, they directly and personally feel the love and concern from those who already know and follow Him. The boxes are the first step in transforming these young lives for eternity. We were very proud of the Mount Noiz children for collecting and assembling enough boxes to minister to thirty-three children this year, worldwide.

Southern Baptist Convention

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to be a network of more than 50,000 cooperating churches and church-type missions banded together to make an impact for God's Kingdom. At the heart of their mission is the compelling urgency to proclaim the Gospel to everyone. Southern Baptists also take seriously the Lord's example of compassion and His command to love and care for the needy. The people of the SBC endeavor to actively reflect God's love and compassion in their communities and this is resounded in many different ministry expressions, from disaster and world hunger relief to advancing the gospel. Mount Zion is proud to be a member of the Southern Baptist Convention.
